death note (october 2006)

i watched this movie at vivocity on the last day of school... the plot is quite easy to understand... the actors did a good job in portraying the whole plot and emotion of the movie... the computer generated death god looked about the same as the one in the comic, nice job...

the movie is about a bored death god throwing his death notebook onto earth and it's picked up by this very bright undergraduate... any person's name that is written on the book will die of heart attack within 40 seconds (spooky...) this undergraduate used the death note to kill wanted criminals and convicts which were left scot-free under the supposedly fair law system, hence creating a lot of talk in the town... one very bright detective of the same iq as this undergraduate wants to find out who is behind this "massacre"... the battle of wits begins...

interesting plot indeed... japan screened this movie just a few weeks ago and the sequel "death note: the last name" is scheduled to screen in november at japan theatres... the sequel is rumoured to be showing in singapore around christmas, probably 26 or 28 december... must catch coz the plot gets more complicated where another death note is in another person's hands and this person has a crush on the person behind the first death note... must watch the sequel by then...
